Abram was indeed a very human individual, just like you and me. But yet, there was something so special about him. His love for God is indisputable. He didn't always trust (remember Sister Act I and II? Or perhaps you recall all the legwork he did when he didn't think God would come through with His promise for a son) but he always loved. He was God's man...the whole plan of redemption rested on his shaky obedience. But Abram's love for his God, his commitment to worship and his reliance on calling on God's name paved the way for the great nation of Israel...and our own salvation. (Genesis 12:8) |
