Abram fled the famine and ended up in Egypt. He both prospered and protected himself by telling the Egyptians that his beautiful wife, Sarai, was really just his good-looking sister. This is the man God uses - the one He builds His people from. A man who hands off his wife to protect himself. God can work with mediocracy, fear, arrogance and even foolishness...all He requires is a willing and open heart. I don't understand a man who lets his wife marry another man to preserve his own skin but I trust in the God who can make beauty out of ashes. (Genesis 12:10-16) |
