Lot gets caught, seemingly quite by accident, in the local politics. He and all his people, save one, were taken as prisoners of war. That "one" knew exactly what to do. He went to Uncle Abram. No matter what, these family ties were strong. God created this family, a heritage that would someday bear His Son. The strength we see is simply another divine act touching the ache of humanity.
